The event was part of the World Archery series of world championships, the international federation that governs this sport, and was attended by 61 countries, 376 athletes, more than 70 of them with experience in the Olympic Games, gathered to compete in individual and team categories.

More than 10,000 people witnessed the celebration of the Archery World Championships in the historic center of Mexico City. The best archers on the planet met the mexican capital to compete at the highest level. The event was broadcasted live in more than 70 countries, while thousands from the stands stood in the field installed in the Zocalo.

Attached to the field, more than 50,000 people enjoyed various activities at Hyundai Fan Park, and over 3,000 archery clinics were taught to visitors.
